Kanagawa prefectural Museum of Cultural History

Kanagawa prefectural Museum of Cultural History

The Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History, marked by a large green dome, is a museum dedicated to the culture and history of Kanagawa Prefecture. The old building was built in 1904 as the head office of the Yokohama Shokin Bank and is designated as a national important cultural property. The permanent exhibition rooms are divided into five themes and richly illustrated with materials from prehistory to the present day.
The free zone on the first floor features a coffee shop and other amenities. Although the museum is located next to the developing Minato Mirai district and close to the center of tourism in Yokohama, visitors can experience the atmosphere of the Meiji period and the history of Kanagawa. You can't find a better way to experience the atmosphere of the Meiji era and the history of Kanagawa in the museum.
