Art Tower Mito
Art Tower Mito, symbolizing the 100-meter-high tower commemorating the centennial of Mito City, is a cultural complex consisting of three dedicated spaces: a concert hall, a theater, and a contemporary art gallery.
The contemporary art gallery holds three to four exhibitions a year, including solo shows by world-renowned artists, solo shows by leading Japanese artists, and group shows with themes that correspond to the times. The theater presents a wide variety of performances, from musicals to classical performing arts, as well as masterpieces from the past, present and future by talented directors and famous actors. In the Concert Hall, concerts are given by the Mito Chamber Orchestra, the resident orchestra, and other groups, as well as original projects composed by curators from their own perspectives, and projects inviting outstanding performers from Japan and abroad.
