Okada Museum of Art
The Okada Museum of Art, one of the largest indoor galleries in Hakone, has five floors and displays approximately 450 works of art at any one time, including paintings and ceramics from ancient to modern times in Japan, China and Korea.
The core of the collection is modern and early modern Japanese paintings and ceramics from East Asia (China, Korea and Japan), but there are also archaeological artifacts such as Jomon pottery, clay figurines and haniwa (haniwa), ancient and medieval Buddhist artifacts such as Buddhist statues and paintings, calligraphy, maki-e (lacquerware), jade ware, metal and glassware, and other artifacts from a wide range of periods and fields.
Famous and rare artifacts are available. You can also enjoy the garden that changes from season to season, the Kaika-tei restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the view of the garden, and the 100% natural hot spring footbath cafe.
