The Bridgestone Museum of Art, Ishibashi Foundation, which has been closed since May 2015, has recently reopened as a new art museum under the new name ARTIZON MUSEUM.
The word "ARTIZON" was coined from the combination of the word "art" and "horizon" to express our hope that many people will be able to experience the horizons of art that are opening up the world in the future. The concept of the new museum is "the experience of creation". The concept of the new art museum is "the experience of creation," and the scope of the museum will be broadened to include ancient art, impressionism, Japanese early modern art, Japanese modern Western painting, 20th century art, and contemporary art. The ARTIZON MUSEUM is located on the lower level of the 23-story skyscraper, Museum Tower Kyobashi, with three floors from the fourth to the sixth, and the exhibition rooms have been expanded to twice the size of the former museum.
