Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (TMG) was established in Yebisu Garden Place in January 1995 as Japan's only comprehensive museum of photography and film. 15 to 20 exhibitions a year are held in three galleries (3rd floor, 2nd floor and basement level).
There is a diverse line-up of exhibitions, including thematically selected works from the museum's collection of more than 35,000 works (as of March 31, 2020), including many rare and valuable works that are hard to find today, as well as self-produced exhibitions that introduce works from Japan and abroad from a unique perspective.
There is also a hall on the first floor that shows high quality films (the first floor), a library on the fourth floor where visitors can browse through a collection of domestic and international works and a wealth of materials on photography and film, a museum shop, and a café. We welcome visitors from all over the world as a center for the creation and dissemination of photography and video culture.
